Spectroscopy
In
addition to an empirical formula derived through our CHN/O and Heteroelemental
and Metal analyses, Robertson Microlit Laboratories can provide structural
information about the the chemical compound.

FT-IR
Our laboratory
can offer FT-IR analysis covering the 4000-400 cm-1 infrared region. We
use the newest instrumentation Perkin Elmer System 2000 FT-IR and Nicolet
Magna-560.
We print
out customized FT-IR reports, and tailor data and graphs to your individual
needs. We can supply you with analysis data in J-CAMP format for in-house archiving or data modifications.
UV
Robertson
Microlit offers our customers a comprehensive, reliable and cost effective
UV service, where our experienced staff uses the newest instrumentation.
We provide
you with a routine UV-Spectrum scan from 400-200 nm, which can be further
expanded into the visible range if necessary.
We report
the respective nanometers for UV-maxima, shoulders and plateaus in absorption
units (AU). If the molecular weight (MW) is given, we report extinction
coefficients (E), otherwise, values as (E1%1cm).
As a general
rule, we prepare solutions of 0.5 mg compound in 50 ml spectro grade methanol;
we make further solutions if necessary.
Rotation
We use the
Perkin Elmer Model 341 Polarimeter which provides measurements at five
discrete wavelengths: 589nm, 578nm, 546nm, 435nm, and 365 nm.
Hard copy
reports feature experimental data (at least five readings after stability),
calculations, and instrument settings and conditions.
